If you missed last Saturday’s group ride, or if you attended the last ride and can’t get enough of the Ludlam Trail, don’t worry! We’ll be coming back with an encore group ride and run this Saturday November 14. As part of Miami’s 5 day mega-event WHEELS, on November 14, WHEELS programming will turn the spot light towards the Ludlam Trail.
The entire public is invited to attend the second ever official activation of the Ludlam corridor. At 7:00 am, join Miami’s running legend Frankie Ruiz as he leads hundreds of Miami runners through the historic corridor. The group will be meeting at the Dadeland North metro rail station and will be an out-and-back to AD Barnes Park. Later on that day at 2:00 pm, Gary Mendenhall and the rugged Gravel Grinders mountain bike group will lead riders through the trail on mountain bikes.
Runners and riders should expect a fairly flat terrain with fine crushed gravel for the majority of the surface. Runners should bring their trail sneakers, not their pretty and expensive road running shoes. Riders should bring a mountain bike or any fat-tire bike, no road bikes will be permitted to ride. After the ride, make sure you take the Underline or grab a metro rail ride and head out to South Miami for the WHEELS official Street Bash!
