Tony Garcia (Chairman)
Tony Garcia is principal of The Street Plans Collaborative, specializing in urban design, smart growth, and active transport planning. Tony received his B.A. in urban planning and architecture studies from New York University and his Masters from the University of Miami School of Architecture. He is a member of Bike Walk Coral Gables, the Urban Environment League and the Congress for the New Urbanism.
Frankie Ruiz (Vice-chair)
Frankie serves as Chief Running Officer primarily responsible for Government, Community & Runner Relations for Lifetime Fitness. The greatest accomplishment of his focus on destination events has been the success of the 25,000 runner Miami Marathon. He has been the head cross country coach for Belen Jesuit Preparatory since ’02, during that tenure he has lead them to 7 State Championships. In ’09, Frankie Ruiz launched the extremely successful weekly South Beach Run Club that has expanded to becoming the Run Club Network, encompassing over 13,000 runners. Frankie is also a contributing writer for Healthy Miami Magazine and he frequently is invited to do motivational speaking in the community. Frankie is also part-owner of SoleRUNNERS Running store.
Maricé, LEED AP, is principal of the architectural firm Chael, Cooper and Associates, specializing in civic, mixed-use buildings and residences for walkable communities. She practices in affiliation with her husband, Victor Dover, principal in the New Urban planning firm Dover Kohl and Partners. It is through the implementation of walkable communities, where people come first, that we easily enable walking, biking, and transit use. Maricé currently serves as president of the South Miami Neighbors and was the founder of Bike SoMi.
Peter Rabbino is a computer consultant, avid outdoorsman and environmentalist. Peter is President of Legal Computer Consultants, a technology firm providing outsource IT services specifically for law offices. Peter is a graduate of Syracuse University. Peter is also on the board of Friends of Biscayne Bay. He has two daughters and lives in South Miami.
Victor Dover serves as principal-in-charge for many of the firm’s design and planning projects. He has led more than 100 charrettes. Victor lectures widely around the nation on the topics of livable communities and sustainable development, and was national chair of the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU) from 2010 to 2012. He recently coauthored, with John Massengale, the highly anticipated book Street Design: The Secret to Great Cities and Towns (Wiley 2014).
Richard grew up in South Miami and lives with his wife and 3 children directly on the trail. The Santos family and their dog enjoy walking along the trail and hope to one day use the trail to commute to school as well as dining and shopping. Richard has worked for 10 years at TrialGraphix as Director of Product Development.
